Aliens kidnapped my daughter

Seriously.

She's fun! She coos at people and recognizes J and I, even my mom! And she LAUGHS and giggles and is just damn cute! Not this screaming, wriggling, red-face BEAST that I've grown to love. Now she almost seems human instead of monster! lol I'm kidding, really she's a good little kid.

And you can distract her! If you catch her attention before she wiggs out, you can cheer her up and get her looking at things and talking to you!

Not only that, but she lets J blow raspberries on her tummy and LOVES IT!

But I'm worried - she's been doing this aweful gagging/cough thing the past four days. She'll be fine and then all of a sudden she'll GAG something aweful! Sometimes she coughs first, sometimes she just gags out of the blue! So tonight she's sleeping quasi-upright in her swing and I'll sleep on the couch, just to be safe. Poor little dumpling!

I got canned!

What the hell!?

OK technically my job was eliminated and a new position was created for me with a pay cut effective 4 months after my return from maternity leave. I had the choice to either take the new job or a severance package... so I'm taking the severance much to my manager's dismay.

Yes, that's right. They eliminated my position and found a sneaky way to cut my pay when I'm on STATE DISABILITY LEAVE and my job and compensation are PROTECTED!

WHAT THE HELL!?!?

So... I found a new job. lol. Didn't take long. Went in to the local grocery store to apply for a checker position (wow they start low on the payscale! And Journeyman is only $13.46/hr!), and within three hours I was offered the job of Variety Manager! Yes, that's it - I'm in charge of inventory/facing/customer service for your non-grocery items. NICE! Pay is less than what I was making, but without the commute (store is literally two blocks away), we actually now have enough $$ to pay the sitter (my mom). Nice!

But I really wanted the job they offered me to stay at my "old" place. :( It was a great job and perfect for me! But... if they can pull a stunt like this when my job is "protected" (yeah right, what a joke!) then what will they do when I'm a regular employee!? Fuck that shit. :)

Oh, by the way there's a new lady above my boss and I HATE her. lol.
